Road To Empyre: The Kree/Skrull War (2020) #1 by Robbie Thompson

This is really good, and, honestly, the only reason I didn’t rate it more highly was because it’s really just recapping significant events in the history of the Kree/Skrull conflict. But it does that supremely well, with a framing narrative that genuinely engaging and works to get get you engaged in the upcoming Empyre crossover event.
The art is great, with a mix of art styles…one for the flashback sequences and another for the modern day framing narrative. Each works well and helps to make it clear which parts are modern and which parts are flashback (although, arguably, it’s more fitting for the flashback parts that happened in the 60s/70s than for the parts that happened more recently).
I was already familiar with a lot of the events retold here, but it still works as a goods refresher going into the big Summer event.
