Empyre (2020) #5 by Al Ewing

Things are building to an amazing conclusion and if Ewing (and Slott) can stick the landing then this might just be the greatest Marvel event of all time.
OK, so that’s blatant hyperbole, but this is just so good!
Where do you start with this? The wedding, I suppose. A Vegas wedding, that is just so perfectly Billy and Teddy. I’ve mentioned before that I was concerned that this event was going to be Teddy-centric and that Billy would be sidelined but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Then there’s the Thing/She-Hulk fight…the battle in Wakanda…and…well, if you thought Tony was building new armour for himself, you’re in for a surprise. Is Tony really laying his ego aside to allow Richards to save the day? Time will tell…
…and we won’t have to wait long to find out as the final issue drops next week. This whole event has passed in the blink of an eye, and other than a few weak tie ins it’s been a wonderful, wild ride througout.
