My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I posted my review of #4 I didn’t realise that Mirka and I were following each other on Twitter (it’s a small world after all) and now I’m acutely aware that there’s a good chance she’ll actually read this…

So it came as a huge relief to me that this issue was exceptionally good. The plot continues to thicken as Lady Hellaine very quickly marries Gregor, supposedly so that she can get her hands on the mine. But, you know, given that Lady Hellaine is really a hideous, otherwordly plant monster, it’s maybe not as simple as that.

The art continues to be quite simply gorgeous. I actually ended up buying two copies of this and have the Tony Daniel variant cover too, which is lovely…but I find myself always preferring Andolfo’s covers to the variants (but don’t get me wrong, Daniel’s cover is stunning).

I’m very much looking forward to sitting down and rereading this in one sitting, as the wait between issues often leaves me struggling to remember what just happened, and I’ll probably buy the trade paperback so that I can do that.

Anyway, in case you hadn’t got the idea, I really love this book and I can’t wait to read the final part!
