Star Wars #15 (Star Wars by Charles Soule
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Don’t be fooled by the cover, Boba Fett is barely in this and this is very much a tie-in to the War Of The Bounty Hunters in name only. Still, that’s not really a bad thing as this book is really more caught up in its own thing.
The Rebel Alliance continues the search for the missing parts of its fleet, which takes them to a world that was effectively rendered lifeless during the great hyperspace disaster during the High Republic (because everything has to connect to that in some way right now). They find the 11th Division under siege by the Empire, but one of the troops on the ground has a bright idea for how the pilots of Starlight Squadron can take down the Imperial Star Destroyer that looms above them.
This is a solid, action-packed issue with great art and writing. A thoroughly enjoyable romp that focuses on Starlight Squadron and Luke Skywalker. Luke’s crisis of confidence as his encounters with Vader play on his mind, causing him to miss a vital shot, is particularly well executed.
Good writing, good art…what more could you ask for?
